HOPE worldwide (Singapore)

Bringing Hope. Changing Lives.

The poor and needy have always been on the hearts of the members of the Central Christian Church.

Originally started by the Central Christian Church (CCC) as its benevolent arm, HOPE worldwide (Singapore) - a faith-based charity - was registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS 225/98 WEL) in 1998 and became the adopted charity of Central Christian Church (CCC).  Besides donating regularly to HOPE worldwide (Singapore) and HOPE worldwide (Indonesia) in cash and in kind, CCC has also been a great source of support to HOPE worldwide (Singapore) in providing a dedicated pool of volunteers.

The mission of HOPE worldwide (Singapore) is "Bringing Hope and Changing Lives" in six core areas: Family, Life Education, Health Education, Seniors, Children, Skill Empowerment and Volunteerism. This mission is achieved through individual programmes and partnerships with several Singapore Government Agencies and the generosity of individual companies.

Over the years, the members of the Central Christian Church have enjoyed volunteering along with HOPE worldwide (Singapore) in helping to raise funds for organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation of Singapore and for ComChest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). As a result, the Central Christian Church became one of the recipients of a special plaque, as a token of appreciation presented by ComChest's patron His Excellency S.R. Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore, for their volunteer efforts in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 at the annual Christmas Light-up ceremony.

Members of the Central Christian Church desire to fulfill the biblical mandate to help the poor and needy. As a result, in collaboration with HOPE worldwide (Singapore), the members of different regions in the church have been organizing community volunteerism activities on a monthly/quarterly basis in various adopted homes/ organizations such as Lion Befriender Seniors in Toa Payoh, Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home, Singapore Leprosy Relief Association, and others. More details can be found under our Current Volunteers activities list on the left.
