Parents Ministry

One of Ferdie's colleagues first invited him to church in 1995. He studied the bible for five months and was baptised on October 29 of the same year, in his home town of Quezon City, the Philippines. Like many Christians, he was happy to leave his past life behind. After his baptism, Ferdie continued to work at the Philippine National Bank for over ten years. He then moved to Singapore in 2007 with his wife, Jo, and their daughter.

Jo’s sister was the first one to reach out to her to study the bible. At that time, Jo was had a career as a professional dancer. After just two studies, she decided to give up that career and focus on her bible studies. It took only one month for her to complete the studies and be baptised; on October 16, 1992. After becoming a Christian, she reached out to her father first, and then together with her sister and father, reached out to her mother. Both of her parents became disciples in 1997. She and Ferdie were married in December of 1996.

Over the years Ferdie and Jo have led several groups; in the Singles Ministry for three years, as well as in the Marrieds Ministry for over seven years. They have also served in other capacities, including the Children’s Ministry (Kid’s Kingdom), and as regional married couples' coordinators.

In January 2011, Ferdie and Jo joined the full time ministry at Central Christian Church here in Singapore, where they lead the East Parents Ministry.
