There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.

The Northwest singles ministry believes that they should not forget the poor and needy in Singapore and strive to do what they ought to in serving the less fortunate. As a result, volunteers regularly visit Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home on a monthly basis.

Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home (CSLMCH) provides a safe haven for children 5-16 years of age, most of whom are from single or divorced families. A handful of these children have intellectual learning disabilities. Therefore, volunteers have come up with a programme that aims at nurturing these children. There are activities such as outings, camps and workshops which will teach the children study skills, social skills, sports, arts, IT, etc. The children are also provided weekly or fortnightly tuition lessons.
