John and Karen Louis
John Louis
John Louis graduated with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the City University, London, in 1985. John is also president of HOPE worldwide (Singapore), and is a trained family life educator and marriage counsellor. He has a Masters Degree in Counselling from Monash University and is a Professional Member of counselling associations in America, Australia and Singapore. John has a graduate diploma in Schema Therapy, and was trained in Manhattan by the founder, Dr. Jeffrey Young. He was featured as a speaker at the last two international schema therapist workshops in Portugal and Germany, respectively.
John is a much sought-after speaker around the world, and has conducted his "I Choose Us" marriage workshop and his "Good Enough Parenting" workshop on five continents. I Choose Us, the book, was recently released, and has already been translated into seven languages. John hopes to have the book Good Enough Parenting out by the end of 2011. Along with his wife, Karen, John founded Movie Therapy™ in Singapore, and has done much to promote the use of movies in the helping professions. He has worked locally with Singapore's Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS) and other government affiliated organizations to promote healthy families in Singapore, in addition to mental wellness and other programmes.
John and Karen have been married almost 25 years, and are the proud parents of two energetic teenagers who help to keep them young at heart.

Karen McDonald Louis
Karen McDonald Louis graduated with honors (Cum Laude) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst as a classics major. Besides holding a Graduate Certificate in Parent Leadership Education Training from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, and a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Karen has a graduate diploma in Solution Focused Therapy. She is also a Professional Member of counselling associations in America, Australia and Singapore. At present, Karen is on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Association for Counselling.
In her capacity as a Family Educator, Karen has organized and spoken at marriage workshops and at many parenting workshops on child development and education. She has been conducting parenting talks and doing marriage counselling for more than fifteen years in England, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Karen has a passion for writing and has contributed to various publications over the years. In 2005 she wrote a booklet commissioned by Singapore's Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), on Intergenerational Bonding, entitled “G-Connect – Bonding Generations”, to provide essential working tips for families. For the past four years Karen has focused her energies on the marriage and parenting programmes the she and her husband have conducted in Singapore and around the world (see John's profile above).

Patrice Lee
Patrice Lee is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Parent Education Leadership Training awarded jointly from Swinburne University, Australia and Family Resource Training Centre, Singapore; and a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia. Patrice is also a Professional Member of counselling associations in America, Australia and Singapore.
Although an American, Patrice has been residing in Singapore since 1988. She and her husband, Lee Teck Ming, have conducted numerous marriage and parenting seminars and workshops throughout Southeast Asia. Patrice does individual, family and marriage counselling. She has three wonderful children.
